About the Client

The Nigeria International Wine & Spirit Fair started in 2010 as a unique platform to showcase various wines and spirits from all over the world to consumers and enthusiasts for a two-day expo in Lagos.

However, the previous editions were received as entertainment events. The Client, Spronks Creations Limited, engaged Upticomm to reposition the Fair as a business event that would attract the right audience and government.

Our Work
  • Upticomm tied the fair to the government's transformation agenda with a view to connecting with a wider range of stakeholders.
  • A World Press Conference was held in an exclusive bar and was well attended by local and international media.
  • Courtesy visits were organized with government officials, including the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Commissioners for Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Tourism and Intergovernmental Relations, Lagos State, to secure their buy-in and build partnerships.
  • The Commissioner of Tourism and Intergovernmental Relations, Lagos State, Mr. Disun Holloway, was the special guest of honour who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Fair in 2013.
Outcome
  • The 2013 edition attracted the largest number of visitors since it started in 2010.
  • The media coverage was unprecedented.
